Doug Storer, 47 - Walnut Creek

I came to DCF at the old shed last year in April weighing in at 245 pounds (already down from just over 260!), unable to do one pullup, kipping or not, and with a track record of never finishing a single WOD in class for the previous year on the road and beginning train with Crossfit SF with Adrian and Kelley.

I leave now almost always able to finish, not always last (never first yet, but I have a dream!), able to do solid kipping pullups 10 or more at a time, and thanks to dialing in the zone diet a little more with Mark's encouragement, weighing in this morning at 207.8. I'm aiming for >200 pounds now and I can see it clearly as I move forward.

Everybody who I had conversations with at DCF has made my life a little richer and I am grateful for it. You guys, Sara and Jeremy have especially been great mentors and coaches (and if I had more time to invest in the friendships, you would be my friends) as I figure out how to push my self a little harder than I thought I could in every area of my life.

"I've been training at Diablo CrossFit since January of 2006. I was introduced to CrossFit prior to my first firefighter recruit academy. Since that day, I've lost 40 pounds and am now in the best shape of my life!"

Stavros Kalogirou, 33 - Firefighter, Triathlete - Pleasant Hill

"I have been training with Diablo CrossFit since November of 2008. A main focus area was to improve my core strength because of the back pain I experienced coming off of the bike in 1/2 Ironman races. For my entire 2009 season I NEVER had back pain in any race including my first Ironman ever. I don't just feel like CrossFit helped build lasting strength for me - I know it did and get stronger every day from it."

Jan Maynard, 31- Triathlete, Forward Motion Race Team

"On January 17, 2009 I joined DCF and my life changed. I was overweight, unhappy, and physically ill. Since joining DCF I have lost close to 60 lbs and I am stronger than I ever thought possible, physically and emotionally."

"Having been heavily involved in endurance sports, triathlon and cyclingI was fortunate to be introduced to Diablo CrossFit in January of 2009. I have learned more about training for strength and endurance in the past 10 months than I have in my 13 years of racing. I have experienced marked improvement in my core strength and overall fitness."

Dean Woerner, 46 - Walnut Creek

"I have been training at Diablo CrossFit since early January of 2009. I enjoy the small class sizes and the personal training I get at DCF. I have made many new friends and changed the way I look, feel and live. I have lost over 85 pounds in the last year and feel strong and healthy."

Matt Frediani, 37 - Walnut Creek, CA

"There are many things I love about CrossFit but the first thing is that there are no limits. You think you've hit a limit and you come back a week or 2 later and you go even further or faster."

Anne Lunday, 37
