Began my paleo challenge yesterday AFTER coffee...today is my first morning with no coffee and of course work meeting went bad. Maybe giving up coffee not the best idea, but not sure I would even be able to stomach coffee without sugar and creamer...We'll see!

Happy Birthday, Sarah A.!!!! Hope you have a fabulous day and get those boxes unpacked ;)

Personally, I love black coffee because I've been drinking it that way since I was a 12 year old in the sticks, sans starbucks...(I'm living proof that caffiene does NOT stunt your growth). Almond milk is really great in coffee though if you need to lighten it up a bit. Just make sure you buy the unsweetened kind.

Happy Birthday, Sarah. If I may be so bold, drink some coffee. The initial transition to paleo is demanding enough w/out throwing caffeine withdrawal on top of it. I really like coconut milk in my coffee, but your mileage may vary.

As for the primal shopping/cooking classes I'll be leading-- they're just practical guides to making your food as high-intensity & constantly varied as your workouts.

The Thursday clinic will be a broad outline of good local sources (farmers' markets, produce markets, ethnic markets, etc) and basic cooking skills (making roasts, rubs/marinades, soups, etc). The classes that follow that will be more hands-on: actually going to different markets, buying ingredients, and making a meal.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! The almond milk seems to separate but I might have to give it another shot. Almost all the caffeine I get is from my coffee (and a soda now and then), so I'm not too worried about withdrawls...but probably shouldn't chance it. Today my boss asked what food I wanted for my birthday and I said FRUIT! I wonder what he will bring back! :) Hopefully something tasty. See you all tonight-I think Erik and I will do the V-day WOD!
