Diablo CrossFit

What Is CrossFit?

Started as a maverick gym in Santa Cruz, CrossFit has spread worldwide, becoming the principal strength & conditioning program for police academies and tactical op's teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, & hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Why? Because CrossFit works...FAST.

CrossFit delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. CrossFit's specialty is not specializing. Daily life, like many sports and professions, (and even combat) requires broad levels of fitness. CrossFit's program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind.

Vitamins seen as no help in fighting heart disease.

After eight years, the researchers found no difference among the groups in the incidence of heart attack, stroke, congestive heart failure or angina. And taking the vitamins did not reduce the need for cardiac revascularization, a surgical operation to restore adequate blood flow to the heart.

Weird, have these doctors never heard of fish oil?

Posted by: RUINER at November 18, 2008 8:16 AM

I suppose this just means that anti-oxidants don't have anything to do with clogged arteries?
It will be interesting to see if the "multi-vitamin" has any measurable effect, though I would imagine the next question would be "which vitamin/mineral in the multi actually helped... or was it all of them."
FISH OIL RULES! At least that one's a no brainer at this point.
I'm looking forward to doing Christine with the 6:30pm class, tonight.

What is this Turkey Trot all about??

Luca, Thanks for your help with the OH squats this morn. Can't wait to try that again. Always a great class! Steph is learning a lot about herself :)

Did "Nicole" today and got 155 pullups, including a new PR of 40 pullups in the first round. My rounds were:

40
25
20
17
18
20
15

That was pretty cool.

I love working with Stephanie, she's always so ready to learn and willing to try new things, she's making great progress, her arms are a testament to that ;-), nice work on your OHS you never stop to amaze me.
Mountain you're officially into the 40s club congrats, not an easy thing to achieve my friend.

Posted by: luca z. at November 18, 2008 5:10 PM

That's damn cool, Mountain. Very impressive. Did your hands survive the beating?

Posted by: Craig at November 18, 2008 6:53 PM

Mountain. 40 pullups is awesome! It's one of my 2008 goals!

Posted by: Mark L. at November 18, 2008 7:52 PM

Chris hit 10:40 on Christine today with the stair climb, I only know this because I heard his reps on the deads from upstairs but he was blistering.

Posted by: Miles at November 18, 2008 8:10 PM

I hit an 11:22 on Christine, and I only had to stumble in from the parking lot to do my deads and box jumps.

Mountain - That's frickn awesome.
