Article (for those of you who haven't already caught it):
MSN - CrossFit: The Fast Furious Workout Craze
If your gym suddenly looks like a cross between a gymnastics studio and a Marine Corps boot camp, chances are it's offering CrossFit classes. This fitness craze that's swept the nation in recent years was developed by a former gymnast in Santa Cruz, California, named Greg Glassman. The grassroots movement started with Glassman's rudimentary Web site on which he posted a daily workout routine (officially known as the "workout of the day" or simply the "WOD"). A dedicated following of police officers, firefighters and military types soon discovered the workouts, and from there, the wave just kept growing. Now, CrossFitters (as devotees are called) number in the thousands, and gyms across the country are offering this intense workout program. . .

Our Halloween Party is just a few days away! Have you got your costume yet? I already know that Trainer Nate is going as a character from a movie that involves, bowling balls, painted toenails, and a very important rug.
A prize will be awarded to the first person to guess who he is going to be (and if you already know you are disqualified).
Post your costume to comments (unless you want it to be a surprise, then you should drop a hint).

You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don't wanna know about it, believe me.

Walter. I like Darren's answer too though...

He's going to be "The Dude".
Luca and Carry--sorry to disappoint but I won't be in on Tuesday morning. However, I should be popping in on Thursday morning unless our house floods or something crazy like that. I really want to experience Luca's class!
LOVED Mark's class when doing the WOD "Dad", btw. He let me know what Luca's class was like so I promised myself I would go one day. =]
Luca--may I email you? I had some questions I wanted to ask.

Looking forward to see you on Thursday Sakura and hit me up anytime ;-)

I guess Stav hit it (considering he gave a direct quote from the character).
It is "Walter Sobchack".
Your prize: I'll buy a drink for you at the Party. . . I know you won't be there, so I'll make sure it goes to a good cause.

Any obvious guesses on my favorite quote from The Big Lebowski?
I'm looking forward to hitting JT, today, although I'm in the middle of a pre-fasting cycle. I'm probably looking at a long warm up just to be able to make it through. The ring dips always get me.

Carry-
I just watched your DL, Burpee vid on YouTube. Question: It's been about 4 months since the games and that WOD. How much do you think you have developed since then? (i.e. strength, endurance, intensity, etc)
Thanks, Stud-ette!

Some....I had never lifted that much weight before so I was really scared and my form was real bad. I've been working with Luca on strength and now my max deadlift is 215lbs. I really should do that work out again and see what my time is. I think I've improved in all areas. My strength, endurance, intensity ect...varries from day to day. Depending on what I've eaten and how much sleep I've been able to get. You know how it is being a mom and trying to work and squeeze in a WOD! I would love to devote more time and energy to Crossfit (form, strength, intesity) as well as a good diet program. I feel lucky that I get to do as much as I get to do. I welcome insight and advice from my Crossfit peeps and I love the atmosphere at DCF. Hope to see you Sakura on Thurs :)

Carry you're the perfect example off how hard work pays off, just this morning Stephanie and I were talking about the fact that your one year anniversary of starting CrossFit is coming up and look how far you've come. People look up to you at the gym and juggling a family, a full time job and still find the time to come to the Shed and do what you do I say it's pretty amazing. I say just keep doing what you're doing, and maybe get some rest and a nice massage sometime, you're muscles will love you.

Thanks for your response, Carry!
Ohhh. Massage...what were those again? Spa day? Huh? No time. So sad. Instead I'm picking my blisters and dead skin, nursing multiple bruises on my legs and trying to pull back hair with baby yogurt and chalk mixed in. Haha! LOVE being a CrossFit mommy.
