From our ChatterBox:
Should the CrossFit Games include a Master's Division? Good points by some Vets:
Hmm, coincidence that Freddy wants it to start at 40+ (he's 44)? I say, if there is CF Masters' Division, make it 45! (I'm 46).

My legs are hammered from last week (and a lack of warmup at softball) and what do you throw at me!? Walking lunges!?
Well, I guess it's fitting. Just because I'm sore doesn't mean that a Wooly Mammoth isn't going to charge me in my sleep! And since I am escaping, step-by-step, on the backs of evenly spaced prehistoric turtles across a 400m wide river - I better man up. And I can't forget to keep up the pace - if you overstay your welcome on the back of one of those turtles - they can get mean, so LUNGE FAST!
(and in anticipation of the flurry response - don't worry, I'm not over-training)

Excited to see what you guys have in store!

I've never been much of a 'Black Helicopter' guy ... but the more I learn about nutrition, the more I head in that direction. Among other resources, this 90 minute UCSF presentation is amazing about how sugar, particularly fructose, can poison our bodies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM
Also, I have found an uncountable number of amazing videos on nutrition (as well as everything else) on UCTV: http://www.uctv.tv/.

Getting ready to head over to the hospital. I will keep you guys posted with pics of our new baby girl when she comes. I love you guys, and hopefully I will post again before tonite.

Couldn't get the vet debate video to play, but I say let Freddy compete with the young bucks. Any legit masters program should start at 50! (sorry Craig)

Thinking of you and your family today, Moises! I am so glad this day has come for you guys.... your wife seemed to know it would be today and was unbelievably graceful and put together when we saw you on her due date ;) Can't wait to meet your new little sweet one and hear the amazing story of new life.
Congratulations Alan and Nancy!!!! I hope your day was everything you hoped and you had all the energy and space you needed to enjoy every moment of it. If you are honeymooning... have a fabulous time!!!!
Amy and Jeff..... you know.... I am so excited for you!!!! Love to have more peeps join this roller coaster ride. It makes it all the more fun! But especially I am thrilled for you two, knowing that you are incredible parents and have so much love, logic, energy and creativity to share. Here's to scaling those weights and eventually giving everyone else a chance to beat you in a workout ;) It's fun.... it's fun...
I think we will all be seeing you this morning.

It's always an amazing time at DCF, but especially so right now. A new marriage, a new child, and three more on the way. Congratulations Alan, Nancy, Moises, Cody, Stav, Jasmine, Darren, Meg, and now Jeff & Amy. Faster, higher, stronger, more fertile, and more virile.

Congrats to all the new family additions and the ones on the way, Congrats on the marriage. I am trying to go complete Paleo have been reading the book primal blueprint. I know it won't help my burpees but I am hoping it will help my times and a few minor health conditions.
I made the Carne Asada for my crew that was featured on Mark Sissons web site the other day. Very easy to make and they and I loved it.

Good time at the 10am class. I opted for Fran instead of 400m lunges, why? I don't know!
As far as the masters division, seems like it would start a slippery slope...i.e. clydesdale's division, CF Kids division, etc. If thats the direction that HQ wants to go, so be it. I guess it will never be simple like it used to be. If there is a masters division, Jeff Tincher will take it, no questions asked. He's a friggin beast, unless they do 400m lunges, then Yvonne takes the whole thing!

I totally agree with Tami on master's division should start at age 50. I honestly believe you are at peak performance between 35-45. 35-40 you have everything going for you, 40-45 you are still bad ass but recovery takes longer. If it gets so huge and there are a ton of divisions like Stav says, better for CrossFit. Maybe some day it will be so huge it will be televised. I would love to see peeps in their 70's even 80's doing Fran or Helen, I would be glued to the TV and so would everyone else. The more CrossFitters a better world to live in!

Yvonne, did you tell Craig to post this one?
I ran to H.S. track w/ kids ridding bikes, soccer for a while then...75M in I was like "WHAT?! I'm not even close yet" Then it was "go 20 -30 w/o stopping" Then it was "I want to do this w/ a vest next time" the last 50 was arms straight up to take my mind off my nearly cramping hammys.
Just under 8 min. at 1/2 way & finnished @ 15:31.98
Had to run home... :-) ouch

The super pasty kid with the red shorts is good old LT Locke :)
This is the only WOD I am happy to be on the other side of the country to avoid. Mike P, do you remember hitting this up with the vest and staying neck and neck (till the end where you smoked me) Miles, you were there.
Enjoy the stiff, sore, and burning legs for days to come, miss all you ladies and gentlemen

Congrats to Alan and Nancy, Moises and Family. The crossfit community is a great thing to be a part of. Wishing you all lots of health and happiness.
As far as today's WOD goes I had to pass. I rolled my ankle at the softball game on Friday and it has ballooned up to the size of a softball, a purple one at that. Not really painful unless I try to move it side to side. Probably just a lot of trauma to soft tissue. Hopefully I will recover quickly. It is tough missing the workouts.

Amy, Jeff and Benen - I am so happy for you and your upcoming little one! Congratulations.

FYI Ironman world champs were this weekend in Hawaii.
35-39yrs-9:01
40-44yrs-9:22
45-49yrs-9:11 (no typo)
50-54yrs- 9:33
so from this my vote would have to be 50+ sorry Craig. CrossFit is a different sport though...

The red hair was a dead give away to Lt. Locke! I feel like I was in the same position as the camera man at that point....chasing Jesse. Good times. Gotta love a drop in by Lt. from the east coast!
Congrats Alan & Nancy!!! Can't wait to see you guys in a couple weekends.
Jeff...rolled the ankle, no good my man. Ice that thing and get healed up!
