Diablo CrossFit

What Is CrossFit?

Started as a maverick gym in Santa Cruz, CrossFit has spread worldwide, becoming the principal strength & conditioning program for police academies and tactical op's teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, & hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Why? Because CrossFit works...FAST.

CrossFit delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. CrossFit's specialty is not specializing. Daily life, like many sports and professions, (and even combat) requires broad levels of fitness. CrossFit's program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind.

Went to my first Olympic lifting seminar over the week-end in Portland.
For those who don't know them, this are coach Greg Everett and national champion Aimee Anaya fromCatalyst Athletics, check out their web site. I had a ton of fun and loved every moment of it. Every time I go to a seminar I get to meet so many new and interesting people, all with the same ideas as me, and we get to exchange thoughts, ideas, work-outs, so that at the end of the seminar you bring home so much more than what you thought you were going in for. I definitely suggest to anyone to go to a seminar, learn as much as you can, talk to as many people as you can, you'll have a great experience and become a better crossfitter, and a better trainer, because you not only get to learn the moves, you get to listen to the coaches give out instructions, you get to see what they see, and learn to recognize the problems and how to fix them.

Greg E is a ham (in a good way), but his stuff is totally legit. It is always fun and informative to hang out with him.

Way to go, bro! Glad to see Crossfit is a "group effort", and it's good to see that your eye is on the prize of being a better and more useful trainer, coach and fitness guide. Those are great words you give on getting the most out of cert weekends.
Also, do you wear heels? You always seem to be the tallest person in every picture. 8-)

I was wearing lifting shoes, but I'm also taller than average. JJ you're totally right, Greg has a ton of informations to give out, he's very ditailed but very funny in doing it, so he keeps a light feeling while he trains you, makes the all experience so much better.
