Diablo CrossFit

What Is CrossFit?

Started as a maverick gym in Santa Cruz, CrossFit has spread worldwide, becoming the principal strength & conditioning program for police academies and tactical op's teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, & hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Why? Because CrossFit works...FAST.

CrossFit delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. CrossFit's specialty is not specializing. Daily life, like many sports and professions, (and even combat) requires broad levels of fitness. CrossFit's program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind.

070208 Thursday - Evening workout

Anne, Tom and Andrew 'get some hell' with Tabata pull ups (while Brian and Craig give encouragement).

Workout:

Tabata squats
1 min rest
Tabata push press
1 min rest
Tabata sit ups
1 min rest
Tabata pull ups (or jumping pull ups, or ring rows)

The Tabata interval is 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest repeated 8 times for a total time of 3:50. Counting reps each round, your score is the lowest number of reps in any one interval.

The total score is your score from each Tabata round added together.

Taking Fitness Personally

Key statement "While people tend to think a small commitment is a waste of time, any amount of time is a good starting point. And choosing something you like to do is likely to motivate you to make more time for your activity."
